As medical educators we welcome and support today’s publication Breaking the Silence, addressing sexual health misconduct in healthcare and the recommendations of the Working Party on Sexual Misconduct in Surgery.
It is crucial to shine a light on this issue and take decisive steps towards eradicating such behaviour not only in surgery but in all areas of healthcare.
We commend those who have contributed to this report for their courage in confronting this sensitive and challenging issue. We recognise that this may trigger memories or distress for many doctors and offer support through our network.
It is only through open dialogue, education and a commitment to change that we work together to create a healthcare system that is truly safe and supportive for all of its workforce. Click here to view the report
